Welcome to Winnipeg Memorial Services
Turning Points: Ceremonies Celebrating Life was launched in 2011. Based in Winnipeg, Manitoba and working in surrounding communities our celebrants walk with families to create funeral, memorial, graveside or celebration of life services that are as unique as the person’s whose life has passed. Crafted and curated ceremonies which honours and celebrates the deceased life.
Why Choose an Independent Funeral Celebrant?
As an Independent Funeral Celebrant, I am free to design and conduct ceremonies which are religious, non-religious or anywhere on the continuum between these two opposites. I can incorporate the spiritual, humanist or the belief and value system of the deceased and/or their loved ones.
At Winnipeg Memorial Services we begin with a blank page. Our celebrant will spend time with you and your family. As the stories and memories are told, the regrets named, and the grief shared the blank pages fill. With patience and compassion, I will answer all your questions, provide appropriate suggestions and help you to sort through your ceremony options. I will curate a script that is truly sensitive to your needs and requests while honouring the life journey of the deceased person. On the day, I will ensure all pieces of the ceremony are in place, liaising with the Funeral Director and those participating in the ceremony sharing Words of Remembrance, offering Readings or singing.
Should Young Children Attend?
Our belief at Turning Points is, if a child is old enough to love then they are old enough to grieve. Children have an amazing capacity for wonder and awe. They believe in the next place. They believe all will be reunited when the time is right. Children also have vivid imaginations. If they do not attend their imaginations will fabricate something much worse than the kind sharing of stories, fellowship and caring support visible at both the funeral ceremony and reception.
